Founded by Maggie, a woman in her 60s who spent twenty years taking her bra off the second she walked through the door. She designed her tank around one question: what if support didn’t have to hurt?
Comfort & Style · Product Comparison
Built-in bra tanks promise the support of a bra without the underwire, hooks and digging straps. They look almost the same online, but after we wore and washed each one, the difference was impossible to miss.

If you’ve shopped for a built-in bra tank lately, you’ve probably seen the same kind of tank under five different names.
So we ordered all five. We wore each one for a full day and washed every one of them 6 times.
Some of them changed a lot in the wash. One didn’t.
You know the moment. You walk through the front door, and the bra comes off before your shoes do.
You’re not being dramatic. A bra that felt fine ten years ago can feel very different on the body you have today.
A good built-in bra tank can fix that. But only if it's made right, and from a product photo you really can't tell which ones are.

Maybe you tried the alternatives first. A wireless bra that gave you no lift. A shelf-bra cami that squashed everything flat.
A built-in bra tank sounds like the fix: the support of a bra in one soft layer. The idea works. The trouble is how many of these tanks are made, because the shortcuts don't show up in a product photo.
In our test, one tank had foam pads that weren't even sewn in. They just sat there loose, and after a couple of washes they'd bunched up. Another one's bottom edge wasn't hemmed, so it kept riding up over the stomach. And one had armholes so big you'd get side boob every time you reached for something.
That's how a tank that looked perfect online ends up in the back of the drawer.
“The shelf ones just seem to squash me as I’m older and less firm.”

And you can't see any of this before you order. What you can check is who's actually selling the tank.
Here’s what each brand’s own website and policies show, as of October 13, 2026.

We noticed the difference the moment we put it on. The fabric is soft, and nothing dug in anywhere. Then, after six washes, it still looked the closest of all five to how it came out of the bag.
The difference is in how it's built. Most built-in bra tanks rely on a thin elastic shelf and loose foam pads. Maggie's uses what it calls Whole-Garment Support: the cups are sewn into the tank and the hem is finished, so the support stays where you put it.

It was designed by Maggie, a woman in her 60s who got tired of taking her bra off the moment she got home. And honestly, you can tell. It holds you up without squashing you, and on its own it looks like a real top instead of underwear.
“These tanks are true to their claim. They are comfortable and supportive.”

“They are the most comfortable undergarment I have ever worn.”

GetSummet is the slickest lookalike on social media. Its website looks very professional, copies Maggie design arguments word for word, and advertises 69% nylon / 31% spandex fabric with sizes from XS up to 6XL.
On first touch, the fabric feels decent. But in our wear-and-wash test, the flaws quickly emerged.
First, its description admits the pads are removable and only partially sewn. After four washes, the loose foam pads had twisted inside the pockets and had to be awkwardly coaxed back into place. Second, the support comes from heavy girdle-like compression across your entire torso rather than anatomical cup shaping, which squashes D+ busts flat against your chest.

Avouria gives an exact fabric blend (68% nylon, 32% spandex) and lists sewn-in pads, which puts it ahead of basic generic camisoles.
However, in our wear test, the bottom edge is completely unhemmed. Without a finished edge or silicone grip, it started rolling up over the stomach within a couple of hours.

Grace & Ease has the lowest starting price and goes up to 5XL. On paper, its free size swap looks a lot like Maggie’s. The catch is the padding, which its own FAQ describes as removable.
After six washes, the pads had shifted and needed to be pushed back into place.

Curvevera sells a U-neck shapewear tank with sizes up to 6XL. A tank that looks identical is listed on Walmart by other sellers for under $10, and Curvevera’s Trustpilot rating is the lowest in this test.
In our test, it felt more like compression shapewear than a bra and flattened rather than lifted.
Even if you end up buying a different tank, use this list. These are the details that decide whether it still fits after a month of wear, and most of them you can check on the product page before you order.
Maggie's Tanks · 90-Day Perfect Fit Guarantee
The support is built into the tank itself, with sewn-in cups instead of a thin elastic shelf. That's what keeps it from squashing you flat or letting you slip out underneath.
Maggie's sizes go by your full bust and your usual bra size. The chart covers busts from under 34" up to 44.5" and beyond, including cup sizes like 38F, 40DD and 42D.
"They fit, they stay in place and they make me look perky." (Susan, Trustpilot)
It's fair to ask. Grace & Ease goes up to 5XL and Curvevera to 6XL, so on paper they offer larger sizes.
Before you choose by the label, check the measurements. Maggie's 4XL is made for a full bust of 44.5" and up. Buyers of both other brands often report that their tanks run very small, even after sizing up.
If you're between sizes, Maggie's recommends ordering one size up. And if it still isn't right, the 90-Day Perfect Fit Guarantee covers you.
Measure around the fullest part of your bust while wearing your usual bra, then match it to the size chart on maggies-tanks.com. The chart also lists common bra sizes for each tank size.
Between two sizes? Go one size up.
You have 90 days from delivery to ask for a free replacement in a different size. You don't have to send the first tank back, so you can keep it, gift it or wear it around the house.
That's the Perfect Fit Guarantee, and it applies once per order.
"Replacing the tanks without returning the too-small ones will save me a lot of time." (Linda Broberg, Trustpilot)
Wash it cold on a gentle cycle, turned inside out and in a mesh laundry bag. Skip the fabric softener, the bleach and the dryer.
Because of Whole-Garment Support, the cups are sewn in, so there's nothing to fish out, fold back or push into place after the wash. In our test, we washed every tank six times.
It pulls on over your head like a regular tank. There's no band, no wire and no hooks to fasten behind your back.
"needed them since I can't put a bra with hooks on." (Patricia Harding, Trustpilot)
Yes. It's cut to look like a regular top, so you can wear it on its own, under a cardigan or tucked into high-waisted pants. It also comes in 13 colors, including a true white in every size.
Shipping is free. Orders typically arrive within 7 business days.
Built-in bra tanks have become popular, and several sites now sell tanks with very similar names, photos and promises. That's exactly why we put five of them side by side.
The tank reviewed here is sold at the official store, maggies-tanks.com. To get the same tank, with the same sewn-in cups and the same Perfect Fit Guarantee, order there.

After a full day of wear and six washes, one tank still looked and fit the way it did out of the bag. Sewn-in cups, a finished hem and a size swap that lets you keep the first one. If we were ordering one for ourselves today, it would be Maggie's.
